staying true to my fringe love

I love fringe.
It must've been that Dolce&Gabbana SS 2oo2 collection that's had the most impact on me but i know i have some pieces with fringe-y elements from elementary school (a scarf from 1998 i still wear every winter) so i think me and Fringe go waaaaay back, hehe.
And i love suede.
If i have an option to buy regular leather or a suede variation of same item i always go for the suede version. I don't know why exactly, but i think some colours just look prettier in suede texture. This's been my opinion for the past few years and i do hope that'll change at some point cause even to myself i've begun to be completely predictable. (my shitty english, sorry)
And i love indefinable hues...
cause in my opinion they never make you look like you're trying to be too "trendy"/obvious/desperate - like a fashion victim.

Such a hectic week!
I've been at school working from 7am till 7pm almost every working day (except on friday when i had the privilege to wake up at 10, wow!) therefore i didn't have a chance to hang out with friends as much i'm used to. My best friend Rok desperately needed (still does actually) a pair of fresh, NEW-LOOKING jeans (which turned out to be impossible to find) so i suggested he'd take a look in Trieste since i always found something good enough for me (lower $€ & great fit) in my past italian-jeans-shopping escapades. I don't even remember when was the last time i bought jeans in Slovenia.
We decided saturday'd be a great opportunity for some quick shopping and we took my boyfriend Tilen and Rok's co-worker Barbara with us. Looking back at it from only a one day distance, i figured this wasn't such a great idea cause we all have different views on what a perfect pair of jeans should look and feel like AND Tilen and Barbara are tall and skinny and can wear whatever the hell they want and still pull it off when in my opinion Rok and i can't be as careless cause we're shorter (plus i have an ass i always have a problem fitting it in jeans other brands than replay with - meaning: buying bigger size and ending up with jeans that're too long for me). So, yeah, it wasn't as fun as i imagined it would be with our opinions clashing.
One thing i've learned from it: when shopping, always take someone with similar style to yours with you...Or you'll just end up being confused at first and cranky after the unsuccessful shopping.
My comrades were very disappointed in jeans supply in Trieste deciding to leave the city after only 2 hours of store-browsing and a cup of lousy coffee (i know i enjoyed my latte, but i drink coffe once in two months so what should i know about it).
Aside from all the non-shopping mood i still managed to spend some money on a pair of purple-blue-ish tights and light gray leggings (which i'm just too lazy to post pics of). Gray one's are too short so i'm thinking of turning them into sleeves or something like that. I'm still not quite sure about it.

the temperature's rising

you already know how busy i am lately with all the project deadlines and so forth PLUS my schoolmates (the ones i'm working on a project on) are those of a cooperative kind. no, no no, let me rephrase myself cause i don't want no injustice to happen and accuse them of a "crime" they didn't comit, hehe. so obviously they are cooperative but they don't like being cooperative in this time of the school year - the end of 1st semester and all the project deadlines and exams included.
i've been seriouslly pissed off by one of them today cause i had to do a 2 peoples worth work and to make to job done (which is STILL not completely done btw) it took me about 3-4hours longer than it would if had at least a helper if not co-worker. the slavery! i deserve a day off!

and another BONUS today: somebody stole 120€ (or maybe even more) from me, BUT! returned the wallet...i mean - what the heck?! i was given the money from my father to pay my rent in ljubljana, so now i'm gonna have to pay it myself.
i guess recession hit slovenia hard as well. i never imagined it would ever happen to me in slovenia. i'm too naive i guess.

i'm still not over it although i already tried my fave and usually very effective stress remedy - 1bocph <-- that's a unit: 1 b.ag o.f c.ookies p.er h.our ;)

i'm exhaused, my back is in burning pain, desperately seeking painfree oasis and the exams have barely started.
pray for me, dear co-bloggers and readers, pray for me.

these days...

somehow i've managed to keep myself fairly busy with school work these days and didn't get much chance to be creative in my new blogging hobby.
although i did find the time to stalk other bloggers and god bless them bookmarks! otherwise i have no idea how i'd get back to all those precious inspirational sites...

so here's a little collage i made to show you what else's kept me busy besides architecture and the gym this week.
- i bought a T in Zara and painted it myself. the design consists of a jeff koons inspired poodle (only my version's in pink of course), a "warning" 'beware of the dog" and some random tiny yellow spots. the colors glow under UV light.....this was a late ny gift to my boyfriend
- did my nails twice...stripes was the theme of the week obviously...the more chaotic nail design reminds me of the 'bird nest' stadium from last year's olimpics in beijing
- loving these apples
- steak tartare, nom nom nom - but it's gone now, too bad.

looooving this...hum...i'd say it's a dress, if i'm mistaken, correct me please, fashion police, hehe.
i'd like to wear something like this to a party. it just might be my next sewing project (once a figure skater, always a figure skater...)

I <3 TIARAs

I can't remember how long i've been looking for a cheap but pretty tiara. The furthest my memory reaches is NYC in April 2oo6...but unfortunately they were a bit too pricey for my student budget.
I finally got one last September and it was even in Ljubljana! For 15€! Great deal in my opinion. You can se a pic of it in my profile pic.

But that's not why i'm writing this post.
Since i'm a fan of tiaras i can't help but love the brand with one in it's logo - Fornarina.


I've been a fornarina fan for years. I think our romance begun in 6th grade
with a birthday present from parents - THEM blue kimono-print-like wedges.
I'm not posting a whole picture cause i look absurd. Here are them lovely shoes:

I was so thrilled about this gift at a time i literally fell of a kitchen chair!

Hei there!

It's that time of the year when everybody's broke or just sick and tired of all the fuss from the previous/festive season, and that leads to -> there's not much going on in ljubljana's nightlife (so what else is new?), it's fairly cold outside ( -4°C; well that's actually pretty warm in comparison with the last week when it's been as low as -8°C or even lower. brrr!), the exam season's just arround the corner ... all of these factors contribute to me staying inside/home more often, making plans for the year that's just begun, and lot's and lot's of time spent on the web! And, just like in that "jolly december", continuing with the not-getting-enough-sleep trend. But there's a good side to this too! I "discovered" an enormous amount fashion/style blogs and e-shops and am therefore very inspired for all the diy projects i plan on starting/ finishing in this month. Actually i'm so enthusiastic about it all that it's starting to show on my not-so-brilliant schoolwork - whoops! Thank god this is the last week of lectures at school and the exam season's ending with February.
I also have a flight-attendant course to attend. It's starting in 14 days' time and it lasts for 4-5 weeks. Then i'll have 3 exams to pass and after that I can fly with Adria (and buy extra cheap makeup on airports, HA-HA! ;)) More money for all my fashion related splurges and less time for my nr. 1 love: partying and showing off in my homemade clothes.
Totally wandered away from the point i wanted to make, jeez - sorry. What i wanted to say is that with this "January-boredom" and all it made me want to start my own blog. I've tryed some blogging on my myspace page, but i have to admit i don't know a single person who joined myspace for the blogging part. I think everyone's there to "see and be seen", mostly through their photos (including me ;)). So i don't think my myspace blog has any readers to sum it up.
What i initially had in mind for this blog was some sort of Slovenian Face hunter / Sartorialist interpretation. BUT! the funniest thing happened to me today (left me with a smile allover my face as i walked from Nama 'till Evropa a.k.a. Pasta Nona to meet a friend for a drink)! Some girl tapped me on the back in front of Zara and asked me if i mind being photographed for the streetstyle blog her friend has. Being a fan of such blogs OFCOURSE i said yes and must admit i was quite flattered :) ... It's true Ljubljana's (or should i rephrase that to Slovenia's) fashion- or better said style-awarenes is as low as it's average temperature in January so it's needles to say one's got a pretty easy job to be noticed as "stylish" on the streets of our capital.
I've been following Sartorialist's work through style.com for many years, but i didn't know he had a blog of his own (i have absolutely no idea how i could miss this vital info).
It wasn't till last year when i found out about Yvan the guy better known as The Face Hunter. When i "discovered" this guy, which lead me to all sorts of style related websites, my love for style/fashion/makeup and my exhibitionism grew drastically. I suddenly got a brutal urge to express myself in those senses. It started off with wearing really heavy and noticable makeup and then gradually upgraded to lots of diy projects. Lots of sewing and blisters involved. Since there's not a single vintage or just a very trendy shop that i would know of in Slovenia, I didn't see any other way to wear the clothes I like but to make my own. They're pretty easy to make, but have a striking efect on people here (I got a lot of compliments...i guess that's a good thing, but am still not quite sure about it, cause i dont wanna appeal too much and to anyone).
So i think i've had it with the computer today and am slowly off to the gym (yep - another new year's resolution :)) .
Hopefully I'll have the time, energy and inspiration for daily posts.
